my ex boyfriend left 4 years ago can i hit him with a bill for half his share of mortgage?

If his name is on the mortgage, absolutely. If not, you are stuck.

If his name is on it yes….He might have you sale to get his half also of the House even though he hasn’t paid anything. Better ask a lawyer…

if you both signed the deed then yes you can sue him for half of the mortgage payments but you may not get it because he hasn’t actually lived there with you. it’s up in the air.

You can try it, but it doesn’t mean he’ll necessarily pay up. The laws vary from state to state. Talk to an attorney.

Take him to court, but be sure you have all of your proof with you. Any signed contracts and agreements you guys made together to show the courts. You should win your case hands down. If in doubt…consult an attorney.

Hell yes, if you have papers with his name and signature. Or put him on one of them T.V courts I’m sure they’d get him. They always come across cases such as this.

Hey he was a “Boy Friend” with the emphases on “BOY”. Looks like you get the bill and the “BOY” gets a free ride. That’s how it is when you hook-up with a “BOY”. If he was a man you would probably be married and he would be providing a home for you like a real man should. However, you hooked-up with a “BOY”. When will you “Girls” ever learn. When a “BOY” moves in it’s just for the ride and you usually pay.

yes but remember if its half the house then its 1/2 his house also and he can make it very bad for you if his name is on the mortgage also? be very careful.

It has been 4 years and you are just now thinking of this? You must be having trouble paying the mortgage.

Why did you wait so long? Hitting him now seems like trying to even the score. But legally, yes you can hit him for 1/2 the bill. If you truly want rid of this man, then let things go, sell the house and keep the money. Don’t bring him back into the picture. Save yourself from some drama and more pain.

did you kick him out or did he leave? why should he have to pay for a house he has not lived in? why did you not refinance or get a roommate? if you want to be rid of him so badly, why are you chasing him down? if i was trying to hit someone with a bill, i probably would not have waited 4 years.
